By default, the Galaxy S5 Samsung just needs a shot to wake up from the lock screen, but any sense of security will want something more. The S5 offers a lot of different ways to keep your device locked when not in use.
How to set up a fingerprint lock on the Samsung Galaxy S5
- In the application menu, tap Settings → → Management Fingerprints footprints.
- Now start the fingerprint scanning device.
- When recording the footprints for the first time, read and accept the terms and conditions, then tap OK.
- If you are recording more fingerprints, a window pop-up of fingerprint recognition. Run the scan of a fingerprint recorded on the device and tap.
- Place your finger over the fingerprint on the bottom center of the screen.
- Press and hold on the screen in the fingerprint, and then drag your finger down the Home button.
- Repeat this action until the mark is not recognized.
- If you bend your finger or use the tip, the Galaxy S5 may not recognize fingerprints.
- Enter a password Alternatively, touch Continue, enter the password again to verify it alternative, then tap OK. This password can unlock the Galaxy S5 in the case of a malfunction of the fingerprint reader.
- Appears in a pop-up of fingerprint recognition. To unlock the screen using fingerprints, touch OK → Fingerprint. You can use any registered fingerprint to unlock the screen.

- Enter your password and tap Continue alternative current.

- Enter the password again and tap OK.
