Check if your Mac is configured with Bluetooth. From the Apple menu, click "System Preferences." You should see a Bluetooth icon. If you do not, your Mac does not have Bluetooth.

Bluetooth enabled. In "System Preferences", click the Bluetooth icon and make sure "Bluetooth: On" appears on the "Settings" tab. If it is not checked, click "Activate Bluetooth."

Go to the menu bar and click on the Bluetooth icon, click "Bluetooth Preferences".

Click on the "Devices" tab and "New Device couple".

Click the device to be configured to match with your Mac. If you are not on the list, make sure the device is on and in pairing mode. Then click "Search Again" in the dialog "Bluetooth Device".

Click "Par".

Enter a PIN number in the chart above. Sometimes you will choose your own PIN and sometimes supply a manufacturer to use. Click "OK" and the device should appear in the "Devices" tab in "Bluetooth Preferences."

Add a USB adapter if your Mac does not come with Bluetooth. You must be running OS X 10.2 or higher. To do this, start up your Mac and plug the adapter into a USB port on your computer.

Locate the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. Click it and a menu will appear.

Select "Open Bluetooth Preferences".

Click the "Settings" brand "Visible" tab. This will allow Bluetooth devices in range to find your Mac. Choose whether to require authentication to connect devices.

Choose whether you want the Setup Wizard to appear, if you do not have an input device connected then close the window. You now have Bluetooth configured on your Mac.
