On more than one occasion, we remain attached to our platform, whether iOS, Android or Windows Phone because apparently it is a daunting task to move all our data from one to another. That is why we will start this series of articles that will explain step by step and the easiest way I can find, such as moving all your "mobile life" cumulative from one phone to another with different software. And the first of these follows in which will give clues for those who want to take the step of a terminal to one of Apple's operating system Android.
Contacts, photos, music and calendars, and other files are the more appreciated than we usually have in a terminal and that gives us more afraid to lose if we change a platform such as iOS to another as Android, the tutorial before us in this article but that is only the first in a series that will explain all the changes that can be made between iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Without further ado, let's go by parts as Jack the Ripper said, let's see how to save all these elements and grab an iPhone to an Android, a task that appears tedious but which nevertheless have to be difficult.
iCloud
As a rule, we will go now warning that the key to make this transition as smooth as possible is iCloud and access through www.iCloud.com. Once we checked our account on the service, which is probably already done what you had in a while. Entering the Settings of the iPhone, the next step is to go to iCloud settings where, if we have not already, will synchronize all the appropriate marking contact switches, calendars and photos.
A small accessory that will help us a lot (if you're not microSD)
And it is that if you are going to have an Android, this element will be very useful especially if your new terminal does not have microSD. This is the Dual USB flash drives, SanDisk how we show in the picture. There are many brands and capabilities plus they are easy to find. Its main feature is that on the one hand have a conventional USB, which can happen with any file from your computer, for example, and the other a microUSB, connecting most Android also from some time ago, They recognize and connect seamlessly to allow transfer of files both terminal and from the terminal if we have at hand a USB cable.
Contacts
The first step is to move all our list of contacts from one phone to another. To do this, iCloud gives us the quickest way to do it. Once we have synchronized our agenda with Apple's online service, we will www.icloud.com, select all the contacts and in the lower left corner "Export vCard" option appears.
Clicking on it we will create a .vcf with all our contacts and downloaded to your computer. That file have two options to synchronize with our Android device:
- Through Gmail: we open "Contacts" and seek "Import Contacts" option, since there will allow us to select the file you have previously obtained and put the account in our new Android we recognize them all.
- Through the USB dual, internal storage or microSD: pass the file to one of these methods of storage, connect the mobile and seek with the file manager contacts the paper. Simply press up and tell us if we want to synchronize with your Gmail account and save it to the device.
Pictures
The subject of the photos is tricky and has many systems to do so. We can be downloaded from iCloud if we synchronized, but normally they take up a lot and do not give us all with the 5 GB free account - if you are paying for 20 GB, then you just have to download them and move them to new mobile with dual USB or if the terminal has microSD, putting in it.
But if we are more vague and want an automatic method, we can draw two options:
- Dropbox: we should simply upload the photos to the service, if we have enough space, so we will have also synchronized with multiple devices if they are lost.
- Google+ Photos: Google's social network, although rarely used, it is useful in this regard. Just we have to unburden the application of it in iOS, select the "Auto backup" of the photos in the "Camera and Photos" menu and see how the whole reel is synchronized. Then just put ourselves in the Android terminal and see how we have all the photos in the Gallery application Android.
Music
In this sense, the choice is extremely easy because the entire music collection is stored by default on your computer Documents> Music> iTunes. Just move the folder to your terminal, again using the DualUSB if we have a microSD (or connecting the terminal directly to the computer to see it appear as a storage medium more) or put all the songs on the card.
Now, can we have been a little more 'legal' than we assumed. If we purchases on iTunes, Google offers the possibility to us to transport up to 20,000 songs purchased from Google Play Music for free.
Google Play Music Manager
This task makes the Google Play Music Manager from the computer, a program that has only one exception, we have well synchronized and updated iPhone with iTunes on your computer, either Mac or Windows. This software will take the whole iTunes library and automatically synchronizes us with our account Google Music, for what should be, is the price to pay, create a Google Wallet account data with our credit / debit card for future purchases.
Calendars
While passing simple events between calendars of Apple and Google is relatively simple, if we have many friends in them, can be an endless task so let's just give the method to absolutely spend all appointments present in the iPhone to Android. To do this, we again dip into iCloud from where we find a function that allows us to "Share Calendar" with other Apple users are clicking the icon next to each name. With a little skill, rather than sharing them with the pass to iPhone Android terminal.
With iCloud shared calendar, we turn to enter the web service giving Apple cloud from a browser (www.icloud.com) and section Calendar seek "Public Calendar" option. If off the mark, a URL appears, we copy it and we can return to uncheck it if we want. After that, we open a new browser tab and paste the above URL changing the beginning where it says "webcal" to "http". This will make our calendar file is downloaded. We keep it on computer, we changed the name and put the ".ics" extension if not wearing it.
Now we open Gmail and enter the Calendar. That give "Other Calendars" and "Import Calendar" option. We choose the file you downloaded and we chose the Google calendar that will be targeted. With this, we will have copied all the events of our calendar and we appear to open our account on Android.
As noted at the beginning, this is just the first of a series of tutorials that will that you may have all the information when you want to change you from one platform to another without problems.
