Android 5.0 Lollipop is already reaching the Nexus, the wait has been tough but worth it. After months Preview versions, the final version of the Google system comes loaded with new features and not just aesthetic with the new interface and animations Material Design. One of those details is the new star icon that appears to us in the status bar.

What does it mean? For it is related to the new notification settings and do not disturb mode. Until now, we had no way to manage Android when notifications or not (rather than putting the airplane mode), however with Lollipop, in the menu Sound and Notifications will see a new section "Interrupts".

In it we can adjust and customize our configuration of that "do not disturb mode", so that when activated not receive any notices or allow interruptions only in times of priority. In that case, priority interrupts reasons may be limited to event notifications and calendar reminders, calls or messages worldwide or specific contacts and hours and days.

A star for priority notifications

Now with that adjusted to our needs, when the volume button on the terminal is pressed, appears coupled to the classic sound bar a new control panel for notifications, from which you can choose to receive all types of ads, nothing or priority only.

A nice touch is that you can set a mode indefinitely or during the hours we want to avoid interruptions during a meeting or night. Also, to make us aware that we have priority mode activated, a new star-shaped icon in the system tray, next to the WiFi signal / coverage appears.

Small improvements that together let not improve Android, and above all, lets you keep correcting deficiencies. And you, you didst missing such a function ?. If you have a Nexus, images are available factory Lollipop or you can also see when update the manufacturer of your device here. For all who already had it and wonder what it meant that star, you know how it works.
