- Restore problem
- Recall, always synchronize before an update or restore.
- Navigate to ~ / Library / iTunes / iPhone Software Updates. In the Finder you can choose Go> Go to Folder. Type or paste the path name above and click OK. - Delete all files in the iPhone Software Updates directory. - Try to restore the iPhone again.
In Windows, these files are located in a hidden folder. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you select Tools> Folder Options, click View and then select "Show hidden files and folders".
- In Windows Vista, follow the instructions below: - Choose Start> Computer> Local disk and enter the following path: C: / users / [yourusername] / AppData / Roaming / Apple Computer / iTunes / iPhone Software Updates - Delete all files in the iPhone Software Updates directory. - Try to restore the iPhone again.
- In Windows XP, follow the instructions below: - Choose Start> Run, and type C: / documents and settings / [yourusername] / Application Data / Apple Computer / iTunes / iPhone Software Updates - Delete all files in the iPhone directory Software Updates.
- If the concern persists, delete the files contained in the folder "Device Support"
- These errors can generally be resolved according to one or more of the steps listed below:
- Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including a different USB port directly on the computer.
- Connect a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
- Try another USB cable to dock connector 30-pin.

Delete the conflicts due to third-party security software by following the steps described in the article iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
- Third-party software installed may have altered your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your Registry. This error may be due to a default packet size is not set correctly. Contact the software manufacturer that generated the change of packet size to get help.
- Connect your computer directly to the Internet source, without going through a router, hub or switch. You may need to restart the computer and modem to connect.
- Try performing the restore from another computer and another network that you know.
If you encounter an error in the ASR 1000 History Day iPhone or iPod updates, it indicates a problem decompression and transfer the downloaded .ipsw file during restore. This error is commonly due to interference with a third party security software, an unreliable Internet connection resulting in a problem downloading the IPSW or conflict at the USB bus.
