  • Means that Apple's servers are generally unreachable. Either you have a connection problem or Apple servers are overloaded.
  • The trick to avoid errors so is relatively simple:
    1. Before starting, be sure to check that your file  host  does not have the line  gs.apple.com
    2. Make sure you have  iTunes 10.5
    3. Make sure you have the software  iOS 5  on your computer. :
    4. Launch  iTunes  10.5:

     

    • On  Mac: Hold down the ALT key and click "Update" or "Restore." Select the desired iOS5 firmware.
    • Under  PC: Hold the SHIFT key and click "Update" or "Restore." Select the desired iOS5 firmware

    If you have a 3194 error, put your device in DFU mode and repeat my steps above.
