With it's pretty clear what their real potential, so let's make you a little guide that you may know how to use AirDrop for your iOS device:

  1. The first is to enable AirDrop from the Control Center (sliding your finger from bottom to top on any screen).
  2. From there you will see the button to enable AirDrop. Once the pulséis, iOS will ask if you want to activate only or for all contacts. Your answer depends on whether you want to send or receive something from someone and you may have on the agenda or not. Once the choice is made, you will see that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled, both required to use the system.
  3. Once activated we will need it most importantly something to send, which can be from pictures, videos, notes, web links, contacts, locations or other files in compatible applications, such as a spreadsheet or Keynote presentation. Each of the possible files must be sent from the corresponding application, so for example will send several photos, so we opened the Photo app.
  4. Select the / s Photo / s click on share. AirDrop will see that there appears to be activated, so the next necessary step will be a recipient. For this, the person who will receive the files will need to be close to us and do step 1 and 2.
  5. With AirDrop enabled on both devices, we will see in a few seconds the target device appears in a circle, so we just have to click on it. IMMEDIATELY the recipient will see a notice on your device, from which you can accept or reject the shipment.
  6. In a few seconds (or minutes, depending on the weight of the file), the files have reached their destination.
  7. Now we just have to back off AirDrop (and Bluetooth, that does not go out alone) to conserve battery power and ready until the next shipment.

Although the explanation seems to be to make many steps, the reality is that knowing how it works is a very fast system, with which it will spend aand data plan, so we can use it anywhere.

The main limitation is the system we find that we can only use between iOS devices and not between iOS and Mac, but both are compatible ... So we can not send files to your computer using this method.
