I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 running CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4.4). Over time I have noticed that most of my stability of system problems are due to Android seems to have a "time-out" period of tasks, and if a task does not respond within a certain time (for example, when I try to load a web page with Javascript sufficient to place a significant burden on a last generation Mac), the OS states that the task has been hung and axes. This has been happening with increasing frequency as mobile web sites have been waiting for has me increasingly powerful phone, for example, does not happen in my Samsung Galaxy S5 or S6 Galaxy friend Edge.

I tried searching in my sysctl configuration and generation System Tuner to a value that controls this activity "timeout response", but could not find any. Is there a way to increase this timeout?

This timeout is actually encoded in the runtime, as follows:

On Android, the application response is monitored by the Activity Manager and Window Manager system services. Android will display the dialog ANR for a particular application when one of the following conditions are detected:
The lack of response to an input event (such as a keyboard or touch screen events) within 5 seconds.

A BroadcastReceiver has not finished running within 10 seconds.

This is relevant to the applications themselves, but Chrome (or whatever browser you are using) may also be affected above.
