I already ask the salesgirl if it can use as compass..shetold me to download the compass apps..I guess she think I'm asking how to get the compass in the mobi..

You can use Google maps because your location is coming down as mobile data or wifi. Google Maps have removed the compass from the display. Now, the blue triangle that marks your location, always points north. So Google maps can be used as a compass as long as you have a data connection.
