I had the same problem as you, for several months that lasted ca.
I called orange replied that troubleshooting is a paid service because the problem was not them but the mail.
so I finally ended up finding the solution is this:
already go to the website of your mail (nine orange ...) to verify that the sending and hostels' reception from the portal works fine if that's the case, of course check your identiants and passwords.
If everything is good is that you have the following error message:
Sending the message test message: An unknown error occurred 0x80040607
then it is very simple, go to TOOLS -> SETTINGS ACCOUNT, double-click on your account then ADDITIONAL SETTINGS -> OUTGOING SERVER -> check USE THE SAME AS FOR MY SETTINGS INCOMING SERVER
re done the test and normally it will work !!!!
