Among other things, performing the steps outlined below, you can prevent your child to access certain websites from your computer. And you can block access to web pages you want without installing any additional software because you only have to edit a file from your computer.
In this case, I'll explain how to do this process with Windows 8, but it is also possible to perform this technique with other operating systems: Windows XP / Vista / 7, Linux, Mac OS, iPhone OS or Android. This requires the following steps:
01 Run notebook as "System Administrator".
2-Open "host" file.
- Within the notepad, File> Open. Change from "Text Documents (* .txt)" to "All Files (*. *)".
- Go to the directory of the "host" file: "C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc"
Add website blocking
- Inserted the IP "127.0.0.1" with the website you want to block. It is essential that the web points to "127.0.0.1" (IP lookback) to prevent accessible.
Save your changes.
From this point we have blocked access to the website we have added.
You can also block web pages in other systems such as Linux, Mac OS, iPhone OS or Android. To do this we must have administrator or root access to the host file and modify it by adding the web you want to block.
