The Basic Input Output System (BIOS) on a Dell notebook computer hardware used to help communicate with the operating system. You can change many aspects of the BIOS on your Dell laptop as boot order, BIOS time, set a system password and change certain aspects of how the hardware works. To restore the Dell laptop BIOS to its original configuration, you can do so by changing a single setting. This restores the BIOS to default, regardless of the settings you have changed configuration. Instructions

Restart your Dell laptop. Click "Start," "Shut Down" and "Restart".

Press "F2" during the boot process to enter the BIOS. Press the "F2" button before the Windows loading screen. Some models may use a different key. The key will be displayed during the boot process. For most models of Dell, the key is to "F2".

Use the "Alt" + "F" key combination to load default values.

Press the "Esc" key on your Dell laptop keyboard to save and exit.

Choose the "Enter" key to save your changes and exit the BIOS screen. Allow your notebook is restarted during the BIOS setup to restart.
