POST means "Power -On Self-Test", which is an embedded utility that analyzes the hardware configuration and confirm that all components are in good working order. After performing the POST, the team prepares to boot into the operating system. If the computer does ASUS POST runs during startup, a bad connection or defective component could be to blame. Moreover, although it may seem as if the computer does not boot, the system may be trying to communicate starting problems through ASUS Post Reporter, a utility that converts sound codes voicemails. Use the Asus Post Reporter

Turn off the computer. Loosen the screws holding the cover to the box, and pop cover case. Touch the chassis to ground.

Go to ASUS support page (see Resources) and enter the product information. Select your operating system from the dropdown menu.

Left click the "+" sign to the category "BIOS". Click "Global (DLM)." Select a folder to save the file, and then press the "Enter" key to download the latest BIOS update from the list.

Click "Exit", followed by "Start," "Computer" and "Windows Explorer". Go to the folder where you saved the file and double-click the file to open it. Left - click the first item in the file. Hold down the "Shift" key and then press "Page Down" to select all the files displayed.

Minimize all windows except "Windows Explorer". Double-click the title bar to applying smaller and smaller. Drag and drop the highlighted part on the screen desktop files.

Return to "Windows Explorer" and locate the "Windows BIOS Flash Utility." Double-click the file, and minimize all windows except "Windows Explorer". Left-click on the file in the folder, and then drag and drop the file on the desktop.

Start the BIOS Flash Utility for Windows. Follow the instructions on the screen to update the BIOS. The computer will restart automatically once the update is complete.
